Ingredients 

Gorditas

  • 2 cups masa harina corn flour
  • 1.5 cups warm water
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 cup vegetable oil for cooking

Instructions 

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine masa harina, warm water, and salt. Mix until a dough forms.
  2. Divide the dough into 8 equal portions and shape each into a ball. Flatten each ball into a thick disk.
  3. Heat a griddle or skillet over medium heat and add a bit of vegetable oil.
  4. Cook the gorditas for about 3-4 minutes on each side, until they are golden brown and cooked through.
  5. Serve warm with your favorite fillings.
