Ingredients

  • 1 pound sausage breakfast sausage
  • 6 eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups shredded cheese cheddar or your choice
  • 4 cups bread cubes day-old bread works best

Instructions 

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook the sausage over medium heat until browned. Drain any excess fat.
  3. In a mixing bowl, beat the eggs. Add the milk, salt, and pepper, and mix well.
  4. In a greased baking dish, layer the bread cubes, cooked sausage, and shredded cheese.
  5. Pour the egg mixture over the layers in the baking dish.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until the eggs are set and the top is golden brown.
  7. Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before serving.
