Shrimp Po' Boys Recipe
A classic New Orleans sandwich with crispy fried shrimp, lettuce, tomato, and a tangy remoulade sauce.

For the shrimp
- 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup cornmeal
- 1 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup vegetable oil, for frying
For the sandwich
- 4 French rolls, split and toasted
- 1 cup lettuce, shredded
- 2 tomatoes, sliced
- ½ cup remoulade sauce
1. In a bowl, combine buttermilk and shrimp. Let it soak for 10 minutes.
2. In another bowl, mix cornmeal, flour, Cajun seasoning, and salt.
3. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
4. Dredge shrimp in the cornmeal mixture, then fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.
5. Assemble the sandwiches: Spread remoulade sauce on the rolls, add lettuce, tomato, and fried shrimp. Serve immediately.
