  • 1 ham hock
  • 1 large onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced

Instructions 

  1. 1. In a large pot, combine the black-eyed peas, water, and ham hock.
  2. 2. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes.

  4. 4. Continue to simmer for another 30 minutes or until the peas are tender.
